Pan de Azúcar Creek Suspension Bridge

Date

February 2025

Place

Sugarloaf Mountain, Maldonado

This project represented a milestone for our team, as it was the first pedestrian suspension bridge designed and built entirely by us.

Spanning 25 meters, the bridge was built between two large trees, located a few meters from each bank of the stream. Its minimalist yet sturdy design was achieved with few materials: steel cables, a continuous wooden deck, and a safety net to prevent pedestrian falls.

The structure resolved a critical point within an ecotourism trail, which until then had no safe way to cross the channel formed by the Pan de Azúcar stream.

In addition to its functionality, the bridge provides a sensory component to the visitor experience, introducing a dose of adrenaline and adventure upon crossing it.

A simple and effective solution that connects trails, experiences, and landscapes.
